Hmmm, had one more example so close to home that I missed it.
Michigan Bell has just moved from flat-rate local service to billing
$0.062 for every call over 400. It's making a *big* difference to the
local uucp sites. I slashed my usage from approx 550 calls/month to
less than half that, probably without affecting my actual connectivity.
A clear example where metered service has made this user a more
efficient consumer of resources.
