I have had a similar problem when some weeks ago I tried to install 1.3
on a SCSI Drive connected to an Adaptec 1542b. The drive could be seen
multiple times.
To solve the problem I had to change the SCSI id of the drive. It was
set to ID 7 by the manufacturer which is the same id the 1542 is using by
default. I don't know why it was working under DOS with the drive and the
controller using the same id!
After changing the id to 0 there were no problems installing the 1.3EE
with the beta drivers from Adaptec.
