Richard..... What SHOULD the NSF be supporting in it's funding for k-12
 science applications?

Dave Hughes is teaming with George Johnston at MIT to deliver actual
educational material. ( Chaos Mathematics). Johnston to the best of MY
knowledge is the ONLY person who has testified before Congress on behalf
of k-12 use of the network..... because you know what? MIT is worried
where it is going to get its students from 5 to 10 years from now. They
have a project that will team with Western Montana College, a science
curriculum company in Colorado, and an economist who is a member of the
colorado state board of education to select teachers, to train them in the
use of telecom, and then to deliver a years worth of education to these
groups with schools in urban, suburban and rural areas measuring both
educational and COST effectiveness of what they are doing and creating
teams who can train others to duplicate the effort when they finish.

I imagine that beverly Hunter finds this pretty exciting.

What about it Dave? She should have your proposal by now?
