fyi - NAT LANB/280 performance
In performance tests at the Harvard test lab requested by Bill Yundt the
NAT device showed quite impressive performance. The full results are
on hsdndev.harvard.edu in pub/rtests/10.91, but in summary it routed
108pps on a 56 Kb link (just about the theoretical limit of (as I calculate)
109pps, for reference the Cisco IGS & the Proteon CNX500 were both at 119pps).
The NAT routed 2,478pps on a T1 (1.536Mbs) link, a bit slower than other
devices (Cisco IGS at 3,299, Proteon CNX500 at 3,271 for example) but quite
good if one is using a price/performance calculation.
