What competition are you talking about??  I have never seen any place where 
you actually had a choice of local phone service provider.  And as far as
the PA Turnpike goes, there has never been any competition for any service
provided inside the toll booths.  If you want competition, get off the
turnpike and look for your services in the real world.

I believe TRUE competition will be best, but neither the phone company nor
the cable tv industry qualify as examples.
