As someone who once was involved with broadband RF technology as appled to
packet networking over satellite AND cable, I'm interested to know how
DirectBroadcastSatellite, DBS, fits into your scheme of things. Aren't you
pushing asymmetric communication again?
And what of Privacy? Without end-to-end encryption, hackers will have a
wonderful time copying network traffic...and filtering out useful bits for
possible illegal uses. Adds new meaning to re-cycling...
And what ARE the "few other things"? Cellular data? There ARE places where
basic telephone service is provided AMPS style.
