I note with interest your suggestion to move to the telecom group. There
is a very close connection between the Internet and the telco's. We are
talking about a very specific part of the telecom business and I think the
entire issue fits com-priv very well. The Superhighway & the telecom related
issues are inter-connected.

As for your comments on fiber sharing...this has been more the norm for
a long time. Anytime I get involved with MCI I ask for the circuit info
in writing. In the past few months I have had cases where I have a client
who demands MCI. I explain the history and policy of the company. After
that I can generally get the customer to request/demand a written gurantee
of routing. There have been downtime clauses written in as well. That way
the customer is paid - not credited for a down circuit.

In the case where ANS has a T-3 go bye bye, MCI gets told about it but, ANS
can do little more than wait. After all they are not the phone company.
