A quick advisory for those [few?] com-privvers who
don't recognize this poster's 'name' ... 'Adam Selene'
comes from Robert Heinlein's science fiction book,
_The Moon is a Harsh Mistress_ (which also gave us the
phrase TANSTAFFL, "There Ain't No Such Thing As A Free Lunch");
'Adam Selene' was the non-existant figurehead for the
Luna colonists. (MYCROFT, a.k.a. "Mike", the sentient
computer in the book often masqueraded as Adam Selene
but I suspect that the parallel doesn't extend this far
in com-priv... and if it does, things on the Information
Highway have gotten a lot weirder a lot faster than expected.)
On the theory that 'Adam Selene' is not said posters truename,
I've asked him/her who they 'really' are. If it turns out
to be AOL's Stratus posting autochthonously...
Anyway, just figured some of [us/you] would want/need to know.
And I'd hate to see Mr Selene cited by some well-meaning
journalist... (woulda been a good hack, I spoze).
Daniel Dern
who's read too much of this danged sf anyway.
