Geoff Carpenter asks:

Can you really name a piece of NSFNET-related technology (hardware
or software) hich was sold by IBM proper as a product?

Ummmmm I think I can......

the 6611 multi-protocol router which I believe has been publicly
acknowledged by IBM as dependendent on lessons learned from the RS6000's
on the t-3 bbone.

also I believe I remember reading in Network world that Advantis (IBM
&SEARS network outsourcer) has actually used the RS-6000s on a project
as routers.

Its my impression that the 6611 is a very critical product for ibm.
Anyone disagree?
