Well Dennis, I susbcribe to the belief that if I keep whacking at these
insider deals long enough and hard enough I just MIGHT have some effect.
If I don't well at least I tried. Better to try and fail than not to
try at all!
Everyone who seems to want to appear content with the present wheeling
and dealing seems to say "oh but the NSF is such a small part of the
total and therefore it doesn't really matter."
1. Few if any agencies are spending more annually on an individual
basis than NSF.
2. NSF has probably the highest visibility of the spenders and NSF
isleading the way and setting the precedents.
3. You describe an NSF as a role model for the building of the rest of
the network, Infrastructure or whatever you want to call it. I'd like
therefore for what they do to be as squeaky clean and as above and
beyond reproach as possible.
