The tex installation in the sipb locker has been changed to relieve a
conflict with the Athena 7.7 release. This change is somewhat unclean
in effect, but the maintainer of the software is currently stuck in
another hemisphere, and the need is somewhat pressing.
The effect of the change is that, for the sun, RS/6000, and
DECstation, the sipb locker no longer contains binaries named `dvips',
`xdvi', `latex', `tex', `slitex', `initex', or `virtex'. These
binaries, where they existed (they did not all exist on all platforms)
have been temporarily renamed to have `-old' appended.
These changes are intended to make it easier for people to use the new
tex installation in the Athena 7.7 release, which is more recent than
the current sipb locker installation. If you encounter any problems
with this, please contact OLC.
