Thank you for your bug report.
First of all, I do not know what you mean when you refer to "xmail".
I know of no mail-handling system on Athena called xmail. The "inc"
program is part of a system called MH, not a system called xmail. If
you are not talking about MH, could you please explain further what
you mean?
Second, the reason inc was not able to retrieve your mail is that you
were, for some reason, removed from the /etc/passwd file. This can
happen, for example, if you log into the same machine twice and then
log out of one of the sessions.
When you tried to incorporate your mail, it probably said something
like "Who are you?" or "Intruder alert." or some other error message
to indicate that it could not find you in the passwd file. In this
case, logging out and back in again should fix the problem.
We apologize for the inconvenience.
