(I am sending this from a machine in Mountain View California, and
the first attempt was scrambled and sent prematurely. This (I hope)
is the real version of my reply.)

Hi. I'm Bill Cattey, Chief Cook and Bottle Washer of All Things EZ.
I am sorry you were inconvenienced by ez not working for you.
I sympathize with your frustration. Please believe me when I say that
Jonathan Kamens works very hard to find and fix problems for people.
He and I both use EZ on Color workstations, and on IBM RTPC's, so the
problem you report is unusual for us. We need as much information as we
can get to solve the problem. If there is a bug in EZ, I can't fix it
until I can repeat MYSELF the problem you experienced. Even with all the
information you have supplied (including the OLC logs) I don't have enough
information.

One crucial source information is the file you were editing. (I am very
surprised nobody asked to see it.) Would it be possible for you copy the
file into your Public directory so I could look at it, and perhaps run
EZ on it myself to see if it is EZ's reaction to the file that is causing
the problem.

I don't know how experienced you are, so here are instructions:
If your file is called foo.bar, use the cp command as follows:
cp foo.bar $HOME/Public

Then would you please send me EMail (wdc) telling me the name of
your file.

I will look at the file and try and figure out what went wrong. (If I
actually have to run EZ, I'll try and get someone else to run EZ before
I return from California (I get back in about 10 days).)

Please do keep right on reporting errors. Although you are our customer for
EZ, we don't know everything about what it does. We are your customer, then.
If you supply us with good information about how you got EZ to do something
we never have, we can then come back to you with a better product, and
with a good description of how to escape from the unexplored territory.

Write back soon with the name of your file,

Bill Cattey
