Hello.
emacsclient starts working fine if I have a server running (although
yandros points out that emacsclient should start up emacs if one
isn't running; it doesn't do this.)
but C-x # doesn't send the right signal back to the client program.
Several people suggested trying some M-x server- functions; none
of which worked ([Not found] was the error) except for server-start
and server-edit.
(This is on an rs6000, by the way. -- m4-035-18)
