problems with zephyr

When I am working on color Athena workstations (DecStations and
RS/6000's) I have found that the zephyr messages I recieve often
appear to have the last letters on each line missing. If it do an
xrefresh, the messages reappear in whole.
If I move other windows over the zephyr and then move them back to
reveal the zephyr, the last characters are again missing. I can
peform the mouse actions of copying the text in the zephyr window and
this usually brings the missing characters back, but again they will
disappear once windows are placed to obscure the zephyr and then
reveal it again.
