What were you trying to do?
Run local non-athena programs from the syspacks
What's wrong:
They seem to have all become installed in /usr/bin/X11.
There's a rather nice scollection of non-X programs there,
including:
passwd
various Kerberos utilities (kinit, kdestroy, rkinit)
perl
RCS
various fx utils (NEOS)
rlogin
moira clients
MH
delete,purge,expunge
discuss
(I think you get the point by now)
What should have happened:
Well, I can certainly shorten my path now, but I'm not
convinced that these changes were intentional, or intelligent.
there were reasons for /bin/passwd; having it be
/usr/bin/X11/passwd seems a little... odd.
Please describe any relevant documentation references:
(I'm tempted to point you to the arteam trn about
'user-visible changes', but I won't. :-)
