Hi,
I've been using rlogin to access my account at MIT, and am having problems
with rlogging in to DECstations. Specifically, I get:
attach: Command not found.
machtype: Command not found.
Telnet does not produce this problem, and the only thing I could come up with
is that when you telnet the path for your .environment is:
/usr/athena/bin:/bin/athena:/bin:/usr/ucb:/usr/bin
Whereas for an rlogin the path is ONLY: /bin:/usr/ucb:/usr/bin
This problem is reproducible on tailgunner and hydrox-cookie. Since the
path variable isn't set in tty login until after the .environment file is
sourced, it seems the problem is with the Decstations. (This problem has
been addressed in OLC without any immediate solution other than to send
mail here).
Thanks in advance for your assistance in this matter. If this is not in fact
the problem, and there is a simple solution could you please let me know?
