What were you trying to do?
MATLAB plots
What's wrong:
Work station crashes
What should have happened:
Work station should not have crashed
Please describe any relevant documentation references:
I have reported this problem half a dozen times over the past
two years. Nothing has ever been done about it and nobody has ever gotten
back to me for more information. There is a bug in the color X-server
which causes color VAXstations running MATLAB to crash after a few plots
have been generated. I am not the only one this happens to. It is not the
commands we are using - everything is fine on black and white stations and
on other computer systems. MATLAB loses a great deal of its considerable
utility when you can't make color plots. This problem should be fixed!
MATLAB is widely used in couses and research on Athena.
And just once acknowledge receipt of this message so I know I'm
not throwing it into a black hole. Two years waiting for a bug fix is
ridiculous. Please address this now!
