Type and version: CVAXSTAR 7.3P (1 update(s) to same version)
Display type: SM
What were you trying to do?
Find out why my system was so slow.
What's wrong:
I sometimes have multiple mwm's running at the same time.
What should have happened:
I assume I should only mwm running in any given session/
Please describe any relevant documentation references:
I will include the old replay of my questions so far. Also note
that I hadn't given access to read my dot files, but will if a
particular person needs access.
Also, I did log out on Monday, 3/16, but it doesn't appear that
I did based on the olc info about log in and outs. I always use the
logout button on campus and the "logout" command from dialup.
Thanks.

Subject: Your OLC question about "xwindows"
--------
Hi Mary,
Sorry no one was available to answer your question when you were logged on.
You asked:
|> What would cause me to be running more than one mwm at once? This is
|> what showed when I typed top earlier this week:
It would seem that mwm is not exiting properly when you log out. I'm not
sure what would cause this, but it would help if we could take a look at
your dotfiles. Perhaps that could be something caused by the way that you
have your workstation set?
If you don't mind us looking at your dotfiles, please type:
fs sa ~/ system:consultants read
That will give the permission to look at your homedir by all athena
consultants. I'm not sure what else I can suggest.. I will leave your
question active, so that you can get back to us.

Hi - I just checked - here's what I get:

263 root 15 0 5K 2K sleep 3:25 0.11% 0.11% /etc/update -n
Two mwm's are showing, and I've seen it on other days too. I's not too bad
(slow) today, but when a few are left running it gets real slow!
Should I pass this on to bugs@athena or use sendbug? thanks,
Mary

Yeah, it sounds like this is a pretty interesting bug to report. Do you
remain logged in for a very long time?
(nuke the mwm... that's taking up a lot of cpu time)
