What were you trying to do?
Log in and work on this rs6000.
What's wrong:
When one of my xterm windows popped up, it beeped many times
and many old "talk requested from..." messages, garbled in
various interesting ways, appeared in the xterm window. I
don't know the person who they were from, and I don't think
the requests were intended for me, although it was hard to
tell when they were actually sent because they were garbled.
What should have happened:
I guess that talkd didn't die when the last person logged out,
and kept on sending messages to the pty until someone else
logged in and used it, or something like that. This should
not have occurred.
