System name: pit-manager
Type and version:	RTPC-ROMPC 7.3P
Display type: apa16
			megapel

What were you trying to do?
Use my workstation, with X, on my megapel display.

What's wrong:
Without any warning or apparent cause, all of the text drawn
by emacs and xterm suddenly started being drawn "slanted,"
i.e., every character that was supposed to be drawn to the
right of the previous character was instead drawn to the right
	of and below it.

	Very weird.

Text in zwgc windows showed up fine throughout.

What should have happened:
The text should have been drawn properly.

Please describe any relevant documentation references:
The file /mit/coredumps/xwd.jik.920212.F, which is (for as
long as it stays there) a frozen window dump of the screen in
this state. Beware, it's a color window dump, and it's over a
meg when unfrozen, so use "fcat" and pipe it into xwud or
	something.

  jik
