Normally, when the mouse enters an xterm, the border and cursor become
white. If a mouse button is down when the mouse enters an xterm, it does
not change. This may be logical, since another application could have
grabbed the mouse or keyboard. However, when the button is released in
the xterm, it does not change color. So, if you (1) press a button in
the root window, (2) move into an xterm, and (3) release the button, you
have an apparently inactive xterm (unfilled cursor, grey border) which is
really active.
