What were you trying to do?
I was trying to add a discuss meeting. That is, I typed:
discuss
and then
am nemesis:/usr/spool/discuss/f_l_summer91
now, here's where life is a bit odd. There are sort of two f_l
meetings on nemesis. The history is: there was one meeting, in
/usr/spool/discuss/f_l. Its long name (in my .meetings file) is
Faculty Liaison Meeting, short name f_l.
Dot renamed the directory /usr/spool/discuss/f_l to be
/usr/spool/discuss/f_l_summer91, and ran mkds to create a new version
of f_l. This resulted in her having these two lines in her .meetings
file
1:690150257:80:nemesis.MIT.EDU:/usr/spool/discuss/f_l:faculty liaison meeting,f_l:
0:690138912:842:nemesis.MIT.EDU:/usr/spool/discuss/f_l_summer91:Faculty LiaisonMeeting,f_l_summer91:
My .meetings file says:
0:690149148:79:NEMESIS.MIT.EDU:/usr/spool/discuss/f_l:Faculty Liaison Meeting,f_l:
What's wrong:
So, anyway, when I went to add the new meeting, it said:
Meeting Faculty Liaison Meeting already exists.
Do you wish to delete the old one and add the new one?
I said "no."
It said:
Meeting not added.
Segmentation violation (core dumped)
What should have happened:
I'm willing to believe that it shouldn't have added the meeting, but
it should not have dumped core. I have enough space to keep the core
dump around in my homedir for a bit, and I think it's readable. Tell
me, please, if I should delete it or keep it.
