What were you trying to do?
I iconified the emacs window
Then I deiconified, and it came to the foreground
(it also had the focus)
What's wrong:
The cursor in emacs, which should be a whole block, was just the outline
of a box (not filled inside).
Explicitly raising the window fixes the problem.
I am using twm, and emacs 18.57.132
What should have happened:
The emacs cursor should have been a filled rectangle
