There is a bug in the color Xserver that causes matlab plots to
crash color workstations. By crash I mean the workstation freezes
up (mouse movement doesn't move cursor, won't respond to keyboard,
etc.) and does an auto reboot after some time out period.
It seems to happen after a series of fairly lengthy plots, but it
is not predictable.
I would be willing to demonstrate the problem if you need to see it.
I did report this at least once, nearly a year ago, and apparently
nothing has been done about it. I know others have had this problem,
so it is not something to do with my code. Color plots in matlab
are incredibly useful. Please look into this problem immediately.
I you want to see it happen send me some email and we can arrange a
mutually conmvenient demonstration.
