What were you trying to do?
I was trying to use the net-tools traceroute and ping from the locker
/mit/net-tools/vaxbin from a VS3100 dialup machine (e40-008-5 and
also -7)
What's wrong:
When using ping I got the message:
ping: socket: Permission denied
and when using traceroute I got:
traceroute: icmp socket: Permission denied
What should have happened:
I should have been able to use the ping and traceroute commands
as normal from that locker on those machines.
