What were you trying to do?
I wasn't doing anything unusual. I used emacs, latex, xmh, xdvi, lpr.
That's about it.
What's wrong:
Everywhere on the screen (eg, xterm window, xmh window, console
window) random characters were replace with black spaces(like the
cursor). This even happened when I tried to type things at the prompt.
What should have happened:
I tried "Refresh screen" to no effect. I tried "clear" in the xterm
window to no effect. I logged out and logged in and it seems ok. It
almost seemed like there was an athena computer virus.
