That error message is not coming from the MIT host; it comes from your
remote host (the place you are using rsh/rlogin to). Presuming that
you were trying to rsh/rlogin to eniac, I would state that they are
probably not running a named (i.e., they depend on hosttables). Since
Athena workstations are not registered with the NIC, they will never
appear in a hosttable, and you will continue to get this message until
they decide to use nameservice.
In short, this isn't a bug. Ask the system administrator on the
remote end about this to be sure.
