Regarding the error: from: can't find post office server
You will have a higher probability of repeating this conditition if
you slow down a vs2{000} with processes that allocate lots of memory
and sit in a tight loop, flush the named cache, and log into it as
someone with normal dot files and who uses mwm. At the time from is
executed; mwm, initial xterm, zwgc, dash, and the logout button, are
all at various stages of starting up, and mwm is the biggest hose bag
there.
Anyway it seems that with all this going on, the named sometimes just
doesn't get the time to respond with the answer before from gives
up.
This was repeatable 2 out of 4 times with a vsII that was loaded down.
The interesting thing is that if the from command worked, zwgc
complained it could not talk to the hostmanager.
Now, I can understand things timing out and losing, but why, after
this fine experiment of logging in and out (as mwm_user), did I end up
with 6 mwm's running?
