What's wrong:
FMAX does not exist for an RT. Case in point:

decmipsbin fmax.ad fmax.ad.old fmax.help rtbin vaxbin
[10:55pm] ghost-> ls vaxbin/

What should have happened:
somebody should have bothered to compile it for the RT
