Question:
Hi!
I've just discovered that mhmail does not understand the standard UNIX
date format (Ex: "Date: Thu, 12 Sep  15:13:28 1991");
it only recognizes its oun variation (Ex: "Date: Thu, 12 Sep 91 16:09:42 EDT".)
Is there a way to fix this extremely annoying feature
and teach mhmail how to understand both formats?
Thanks,
-Boris

Let me send you a couple more samples of the formats mh/xmh doesn't
understand:

Date: Thu, 12 Sep 15:13:28 1991
Date: Thu, 12 Sep 18:45:41 1991
Date: Tue, 11 Jun 11:07:08 1991
Date: Thu, 8 Aug 18:22:26 1991

as opposed to the format it does understand:

Date: Fri, 3 May 91 13:30 CDT
Date: Tue, 15 Jan 91 11:27 EDT
Date: Wed, 11 Sep 91 09:17:31 -0400
Date: Mon, 1 Apr 91 15:57:48 EST

Thanks.

Hi.. unfortunately, there isn't much that you or I can do to fix the problem
with mh and xmh.. it's a problem in the source code... you COULD fix
mh-rmail though if you do some elisp hacking.. the sources for mh-rmail
are in the /usr/athena/lib/gnuemacs/lisp/mh-e.el

what you could do is send in a bug report complaining about this
... type sendbug at the athena% prompt to do this.
