Type and version: VAXSTAR 7.3M
Display type: SM
What were you trying to do?
select "Shut Down Window System" at xlogin prompt
and then log in on console mode
What's wrong:
it seems to accept characters as control characters
instead of the key pushed..
for example, i wanted to type my username "jewell"
but instead, it appeared that a ^J was entered
and it prompted me again.
I have noticed this problem before... immediately
after the 7.2 release came out. It seemed to have been
fixed, but i noticed it again now with the new release.
As a guess, i tried hitting ^Q once before i typed in my
username, and was able to then type "jewell" without
any problems and logged in successfully.
What should have happened:
i should have been able to simply type my username
and log in.
