I just checked the most recent version of "Numerical Recipes", printed
1989, and the version of powell.f there matches the source in the recipes
locker. At this point, you should investigate the error you get, to
determine:
a) Is there a programming error in your code
b) Is the function you are working with well behaved, or
c) Is your use of powell.f within the "design limits" of the
algorithm
If after checking these points, you still think there is a problem with
"powell.f", send me email, and include the following:
a) a short description of the problem you are working on
b) where I can find all necessary files, including inputs
necessary to run the problem.
