What were you trying to do?
position my cursor with the mouse
What's wrong:
emacs gets confused if you have a tab at the end of the line, that is, just like this line (" x ") in an 80-char wide emacs.
For a demonstration, get this bug report into emacs (don't use cut and
paste, it loses tabs), and click on the x in the line above. The
cursor ends up one character to the left. You can get emacs even more
confused than this.
What should have happened:
The cursor should go where I click.
