The discussion about galatead....
The reason galatead needs to be on the root is a) if you are running
galatea, then it needs to be present at startup. b) galatead is
a generic program that allows controlling of videodisk players
through a serial port.
Given a) That the almost video workstations are in private hands. (i.e.
being removed from public clusters) and b) galatead is a relatively large
program..., we can setup a mkserv galatea to copy the galatead local
on machines that need to run it (while setting PUBLIC to false). I
am not proposing this as a solution, but I think it should be
A 314K binary (DS root) for 15 or 20 machines out there does not make
sense. Perhaps this can be brought up at Jon's meeting?
