You are relying on features of our tcsh. Your shell is csh. Use of $host is
one of our hacks. Such customizations that rely on tcsh should e in .tcshrc.
Line edit exists, but it is different. See th man page on csh. The same
is for the prompt hacking.
Try starting /bin/athena/tcsh.
The /usr/new/mh/bin/msgchk is a bug and should be fixed. Can you tell me
what is running msgchk out of that path? I thought we had found all
ref's. (I just found it in your non standard .login file. I's sorry, but we
can not be responsible for that bug. The dot files were designed to allow
us to make such changes without hurting users. I will fix the compatibility
link though.
