Testers release 7.3A appears to have come out for the RT. I logged
into a workstation today (portnoy) which had /srvd linked to
/afs/rel-eng.athena.mit.edu/system/@sys/srvd, so I got a 7.3A pack on
a 7.2R RT. Though I've changed the link, I thought you should know
what you'd get bug reports about later (if they stay this way).
Workstation type: IBM PC/RT
Workstation version: 7.2R
Pack version: 7.3A
Window manager: /afs/athena/project/windowmanagers/bin/@sys/vtwm
Since I've been taken off the testers mailing list, I checked the
discuss meeting, and found that none of these problems had been
reported there:
------
- Geometry specifications were not honored (not properly, anyway).
"emacs -geometry 80x52-0-0" gives an emacs at "-1--17". That leaves
the minibuffer completely off the screen.
"xterm -geometry 80x46+0+23" gives an xterm at "+1+24". It looked
like all my windows (except dash) had been pushed down a little. (It
looks like 2 pixels, actually.)
------
- Fonts which used to be available weren't in this case.
dash: Unknown font: "-adobe-new century schoolbook-medium-r-normal--14-100-100-100-p-82-iso8859-1"
dash: Unknown font: "*-times-medium-r-*-*-*-180-*"
I presume this is just a result of version-skew.
------
- The dash menu-bar clock has changed.
The clock is right-justified, and uses a proportionally-spaced font by
default (as does the whole menu-bar). The result is a clock that
shifts to the right every ten seconds (and back again), as the '1' is
much thinner than the other digits. It's a little distracting.
