What were you trying to do?
I typed: tar xvf filefoo.tar to untar the files. I changed my mind, and
hit ^C. I deleted the resulting files, expunged, and found that
filefoo.tar got truncated to 0 bytes.
What's wrong:
filefoo.tar should NOT be 0 bytes.
What should have happened:
filefoo.tar should have been left untouched.
