What were you trying to do?
watch a plot which oscillates a lot

In particlar, try sin(x) and 1/(sin(x)+1.2) and zoom out a lot

What's wrong:
It tries several things but the end result is jagged and doesn't
indicate the fluctuation as much as it ought. When the fluctuation
reaches a certain level, though, it decides to plot several levels
for each part of the plot, presumably when it gets contradictory data
for nearby points. That is the right thing.

Incidentally, here's another bug:
When I want to zoom in using the mouse, and I go off the subwindow,
it clears my request to do this, so I when I return and let go my
mouse button, nothing happens. It should be like the mac and wait for me
to come back into the valid region and keep going.

Not to mention that zoom-in and zoom-out seem to not care if you
zoomed in with the mouse several times; it goes to the next
zoom spec from the last request, not the next largest given your
current size. I'm not sure of that however.

Actually, a way of panning with the mouse would be nice.

ANOTHER BUG
===========
in setup axis, setting the y max/min values only takes effect if you
1. type return after entering your value
2. hit the "apply" button
3. even then, sometimes doesn't work esp for max value.
(yes, I turned autoscaling off)

I realized 1. and 2. are probably on purpose, but it should at least be
documented. Yes, it is in the help, but it's not obvious that the apply
button needed to get hit at all. Maybe change the name of the button?
Under what circumstances would you NOT want to change things and NOT
want to reset-then-done?

I propose using the OK/Cancel system used by macs.

As for #3., my max value refuses to change for some unknown reason.
