afs, xmh and losing tokens

My home dir is in afs. I use xmh. If I'm in the process of cleaning up
my mail and lose my afs tokens I'm zapped out of xmh. But, when
I retokenize and call up xmh all my changes [ie marks for deletion or move]
are gone.
If I've sent this to the wrong place please let me know. This is very
annoying.
