What were you trying to do?
logging in. I have the following in my .startup.X :
(dash -menus /mit/lnp/dash.menus -rv &)
What's wrong:
Sometimes I get the following messages in my console window:
12:10 X Error of failed request: BadWindow (invalid Window parameter)
12:10 Major opcode of failed request: 20 (X_GetProperty)
12:10 Resource id in failed request: 0x800033
12:10 Serial number of failed request: 119
12:10 Current serial number in output stream: 119
and dash would fail to come up. Hand-typing the line from my
.startup.X fixes the problem.
I log in everyday and I run across this problem about once every week
or so (so this isn't a rare occurance).
What should have happened:
dash should have come up without all the problems.
Please describe any relevant documentation references:
I dunno... the man page doesn't say anything about "X Error of
failed request" being a feature.... Whaddya think Mr. Bugs??
