I helped a user with the following problem:
For this 20+ page document, ez would only preview or print the first 8
pages, plus the last line of the last page (displayed on the bottom of
page 8). Quota was not a problem. On the displayed page 8, it listed 2
footnotes, numbers 9 and 10. However, the text that footnote #10
referenced wasn't on page 8; it would have been on page 9 if there had
been one. Also, when previewing at least, footnote #10 ran off the
bottom of the page.
My "solution" was to insert a pagebreak before the last sentence on
page 8 (not the last sentence as it was being displayed, but the last
sentence that really was on page 8). After doing that, the whole
document would preview and print. It wasn't really noticeable that we
had forced the pagebreak, so he decided it was good enough.
The file is in /mit/carla/pap.bad.ez. If you want to see my solution,
put a pagebreak in before the sentence "From fundamental Fourier
optics..." (Currently at the bottom of page 8).
