What were you trying to do?
Determine the host from which someone failed to log in to a SIPB
machine.
What's wrong:
Only the first 16 characters of the hostname are logged. For example:
13:22 Apr 12 13:22:32 portnoy login: REPEATED LOGIN FAILURES ON ttyp3 FROM udavxb.oca.udayt, s
It looks a lot like something else was going to come after the ", s"
but got truncated.
What should have happened:
The entire message, included the full hostname, should be logged.
