*****NOTE: ^ This is wrong. the bug occured on a color RT in the fishbowl;
the one near the front window.*******
What were you trying to do?
Edit a file with ez.
What's wrong:
It was broke:^)
Ez refused to update the entire window when it scrolled;instead only the top-left quarter (roughly) scrolled; the rest of the window remained stationary. This happened as soon as I started ez, so no editing was done. The scrollbar allowed on to scroll the top-left quartef of the screen. placing the caret with the mouse cursor may have been effective, but I could not determine, because any changes made to the bottom-right 3/4 of the window (that is, the top-right and bottom-left and -right quarter 'squares') did not show up in the window. Moving the cursor down the page with the arrow keys resulted in the same type of quarter-scrolling described above. Also, when I tried to exit ez with C-x C-c, the popup that requests confirmation of closing with altered files was 'clipped' to the area which had scrolled correctly; the bottom 3/4 (as above) were unchanged, and the popup window did not appear in their area. I killed ez, then restarted, only to have the same behavior re-a!
ppear. I then exited ez and logge
d out.
What should have happened:
The GC of the window (or whatever it is in the ATK) should have updated with the scrolling and with the popup. this did not happen.
Please describe any relevant documentation references:
None known. The file in question is semi-private; I will open it upon request, but I would rather not leave it open for long periods of time or to the general public. *Note: I do not have any compunctions against opening the file; if you feel that it may be file-dependant, then please feel free to ask that I open it. The file, BTW was plain text with Basic Styles Enabled, .ls 2 format, and no other formatting whatsoever. Also note that ez is working fine on this machine, and it worked fine on the machine that I originally used to create the file. (The RT error occured on ez startup; none of ez, ahelp, EOS, or any other Andrew viewer was run on the machine that session)
Please feel free to ask me any type of question that you feel is relevant.
Thank You.
