I've seen this bug both on vax and RT in several releases.
What were you trying to do?
Use emacs over dialup
What's wrong:
If you type too many control characters too fast, emacs
stops, prints, "autosave? (y/n)" then "abort and dump
core?" It then dies (if you say yes) with some kind of
trap that I don't recall. FINALLY, I remembered to
unlimit core before running emacs over diaulp AND was
lucky enough to have emacs die in this way. Thus, there
is now a core dump.
What should have happened:
If some buffer is being overflowed, more careful
checking should be done. In any case, emacs should not
dump core like this...
