First of all, the reason sendbug uses emacs instead of what's in
your EDITOR environment variable is that sendbug is based on mh, and
mh doesn't use EDITOR. This is either a bug in sendbug or a bug in mh
or both, and both are recorded (and open) in our bug database.
Unfortunately, they're not very high priority, so they haven't been
fixed yet.

Second, the reason xmh doesn't like a subfolder name which is a
number is that mh itself doesn't like folder names which are numbers.
Unfortunately, I can't find documentation for this anywhere; to see
what i mean, type "scan +educom" after creating a subfolder inside it
whose name is a number.

I am going to file two bugs in our database in response to your
message. First, that xmh doesn't complain when creating a folder
whose name is a number. Second, that regular mh also doesn't complain
when creating a folder whose name is a number, even though it can't
cope with such a folder.

I doubt that either of these bugs is going to be fixed in the short
term, so in the mean time, I would advise you not to use folder names
that are numbers.
