When I first sent the mail, I had not yet tested my merged sys/net.
Now, I have... the merge as previously presented is correct, but
there is a catch... you have to recompile a lot of things since
net/if.h changes, and programs that reference _ifnet in the kernel
need to know about its new size (this only affects the VAX). Thus,
in order to even reboot, you need a re-compiled "netconfig".
As I will shortly be testing other network code (eg. slip links),
I am slowly going to be rebuilding most of the programs that I run
across that break because of the change in the network structure.
Then, again, this isn't the first time I have changed a network
structure and had to work out all the dependencies (anyone remember
6.1?)
