The bug report you recently submitted concerning emacs failing to
notice misspelled words when using the spell-* functions is actually a
bug in the "spell" program which emacs runs to do its spell-checking.
I will file the bug, but I do not anticipate a quick fix to it. In
the meantime, you can use the ispell-* functions instead of the
spell-* functions inside emacs. For more information about how to use
ispell, run "help" and select:
