Program with which you had the problem: probably getty ??

Name of person who discovered the bug:D. E. Troxel

Name of consultant reporting bug:none
------------------------------------------------------------------------
A brief synopsis of the problem:
Activate a workstation (VS2000), e.g. one in 38-600.
Type a bogus username and password, get the login prompt again,
Then type "control d" (without the quotes!).
The workstation then gets confused, tries to deactivate and can only do part
of the deactivation. It gets into a state where it can neither deactivate
or activate. It thus, is unusable until it is rebooted. I have not been
able to figure out a way to bring it back to life without rebooting.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Fix (if you know what it is):
Not really but it seems to have something to do with getty not killing a
process so onew of the rvds or nfs mounted disks is busy and thus cannot
be unmounted.
