It would be nice if the new login allowed users whose fileserver is
down the opportunity to login to Athena anyway.
It does. Or, more accurately, it is supposed to, and I just tested
it, and it works fine for me.
If it didn't work for you, you'll have to be a bit more specific about
exactly what happened to you, or we can't track down the problem. Did
you get any error messages in the console window? Did any dialog
boxes pop up? What did they say? Etc.
It's possible that what happened to you was caused by a bug which has
been fixed since your problem occurred.
